Custody & Corporate Actions
There is a business relationship between the Depository, Clearing and Settlement Department (CDS), a corporation and the corporate registrar; because all the investors' dealings are made in coordination between the above parties.
The market has set the steps necessary for the handling by corporations listed in Dubai Financial Market of the corporate action concerning distribution of dividends, bonus shares and splitting of shares etc. Corporate actions that are taken care of by the markets include the following:
- Distribution of cash dividends
- Distribution of bonus shares
- Splitting of shares
- Capital increase
- Reducing the number of shares- increasing the par value per share
- Coordination with listed companies
